Workshops:

Workshop on “Digitization and recognition of historical heritage”

(moderator David Asatryan, IIAP NAS RA)

Armenia, being an ancient country, has accumulated a huge amount of information on monuments of culture and art, ancient written and printed documents, etc. It is enough to point to the richest collection of the Matenadaran, various exhibits of the historical museum and many other repositories of the historical heritage of the Armenian people. These materials, undoubtedly of fundamental importance for historical science, are also a very valuable source of information for the development of many other areas of science. This also applies to the fields of computer science and information technology.
Despite the leading positions of Armenian specialists in the field of information technology, very little attention is paid to research on the problems of computer processing of images of cultural heritage objects.
The objectives of this event are to consolidate the society of specialists dealing with the above problems and related issues, to discuss the scientific and scientific and technical problems of applying information technologies in this area, to stimulate their activity and to inform the world community about the vast resources available in Armenia to carry out new and fruitful scientific research.
Anyone involved in the creation or use of these resources, including researchers, librarians, museum and archive workers, programmers, and undergraduate and graduate students, is encouraged to participate.

Workshop topics:
  • Imaging, visualization, and digitization
  • Machine learning and deep learning
  • Protecting and preservation of written heritage
  • Handwritten text analysis, restoration, recognition
  • Virtual restoration of damaged documents
  • Optical character recognition

Workshop on “Cybersecurity, Digital Management and Education Technologies”

(moderator G.Margarov, National Polytechnic University of Armenia)

The main goal of the Workshop is to become a valuable and important platform for inspiring international and interdisciplinary exchange at the forefront of cybersecurity and digital technologies mostly dedicated to education and management. We expect to bring together academicians, educators, engineers, managers and policy-makers from all over the world and hope that leading specialists of the fields will take this opportunity to join us for academic exchange.
Cybersecurity threats and risks are everywhere, and businesses all want to be secure, from the top management down through front line employees. Recent breaches that have made front page news strikes fear into the hearts of everyone. Larger companies have the resources to weather the fallout of a cyber security event, but a breach or hack could destroy the reputation of a smaller company. Digital companies benefit from increasing attractiveness through digital services and improved user experience. The increase in digital systems and the associated information volumes make data protection and cyber security as a whole all the more important. Every company that becomes digital has to deal with this.
Digitalisation deals with exploring and understanding Digital Technology as a set of hardware, software and methodological tools that determines both the strategic and operational capabilities in designing and developing products for corporate productivity, profitability, competitiveness and, certainly, maximum customer satisfaction. This requires scientifically based and methodologically developed harmonization of technologies and business strategies.
Another crucial factor is the modern innovative education based on the thoughtful organization and management of educational processes for which, in its turn, correct use of advanced Digital Technology can provide high quality of education.
The scope of the Workshop covers both theoretical and practical areas of Cybersecurity and Digital Technologies focused on Education and Management. Topics of interest include but are not limited to the following: Cybersecurity Management, Organization of Data Protection, Applied Cryptography, Critical Infrastructure Protection, Humanitarian Aspects of Security and Privacy, Digital Technology Governance, Financial Management in Digital Technology, Digital Technology Service Management, Personnel Management in Digital Technology, Digital Technology Configuration Management, Business and Digital Technology Alignment, Education for Digital Technology Managers, Innovative Education Based on Digital Technology, Evaluation of Active Teaching and Learning Technologies.
